FAIRBURY, IL (August 30) - Despite a less than satisfying result, Ryan Dauber mustered a smile in knowing he had a Top 5 car all night long before a mechanical issue sent him pitside during the 19th annual Prairie Dirt Classic at Fairbury's American Legion Speedway, Saturday night. Qualifying 13th fastest of the 43 competitors at 12.995 earned him the pole in heat race number one, where Dauber woud display his gumption to the likes of Billy Moyer and Dennis Erb Jr., who had combined in winning four previous PDC titles. Though Moyer did get by with two to go for the win, Dauber was able to contain Erb for the runner-up spot.
That would get Dauber an A Main starting spot of 8th for the 60-lap affair. Dauber struggled a bit early on as did most of the drivers who went to the highside, but after the tires heated up Dauber began moving forward up to the fifth spot behind race leader and polesitter Don O'Neal, Billy Moyer, Kevin Weaver and Eric Smith. However, a mechanical issue surfaced it's ugly head before lap 20 and Dauber's car began showing signs of smoke before it slowed to a halt off of turn two. Dauber would be scored 19th in the official rundown with his third DNF in his last four outings at FALS. Meanwhile, Moyer overtook O'Neal for the lead then held off a hard charging Dennis Erb for the win... is fourth PDC title. The duo off Moyer and Erb brought the crowd to their feet over the final 15 laps as they swapped the lead several times with Moyer on the highside and Erb feeding on the bottom.
FAIRBURY, IL (August 9) - Ryan Dauber returned to action Saturday night at Fairbury American Legion Speedway after a short hiatus, and looked to pick up right where he left off. After stopping the clock twice at 12.83, one would have thought that would have been enough to lock him into the Lock 8 fast heat race. However, Dauber's time was ninth quickest of the thirty-one entrants which put him on the pole of the first heat race. Dauber was never really challenged in that hheat race though a mid-race caution made the final outcome appear closer than it could have been. With that win Dauber would start ninth in the 30-lap A main and as the green flag fell, Dauber hustled to the top side of the race track, but would slug the heavy berm twice, once at each end of the track, and load his right rear wheel full of mud causing a bad vibration which forced him to retire to the pits. Dauber was credited with a nineteenth place finish in the final rundown.
FAIRBURY, IL (July 25) - Saturday night, Fairbury American Legion Speedway played host to the fifth leg of the Monster Midwest Tour paying $2,000 to the winner. Twenty-nine drivers signed in to take to the 1/3-mile dirt oval and Tonica's Ryan Dauber qualified 10th amongst that group. Though disappointed with his starting spot in the first of three heat races (fourth), Dauber would make his presence known early on and score only his second heat race win of the season. By virtue of winning that first heat, Dauber earned the pole for the 40-lap main event. However, in the final tally at the end of the feature, Dauber woud chase winner Kevin Weaver and Darren Friedman home to the checkers and pick up a very respectable third place finish. With that Dauber has earned two top five finishes in three events over the weekend thus far.
FARMER CITY, IL (July 24) - With 31 cars on hand for the fourth leg of the Monster Midwest Tour, Ryan Dauber qualified ninth quick, which netted him an inside row two starting spot in heat three. Dauber would go on to finish in order, thus earning a ninth place spot on the grid for the 40-lap main event. In the feature extravaganza, Dauber would suffer mechanical woes and pull off with a DNF. Dauber was scored in seventeenth place.
LA SALLE, IL (July 23) - Thirty-six cars were on hand for stop number three on the Monster Midwest Tour, and among them was local star Ryan Dauber of Tonica. "The Tonica Rocket" checked in as fourth fastest qualifier and thus earned a pole starting spot in heat four. Dauber would finish second in the heat to Ryan Unzicker which set up an fourth row outside starting slot on the main event grid. In the 40-lapper, Dauber worked his way up into the top five where he would finish in his first start of the Monster Midwest Tour.
FAIRBURY, IL (July 19) - Ryan Dauber returned to Fairbury's American Legion Speedway Saturday night following a disappointing night of action at Tr-City's Lucas Oil Dirt Car Series event, with ony one thought in mind. Find victory lane. A feat that has come often lately for the high-flyin' Dauber, or as FALS track announcer Mike Norris likes to call him "Top Shelf" for his ability to use the high line around the race track in his quest for the front. Dauber began the evening by qualifying at 13.46 on his one and only lap. Dauber got out of shape as he entered turn one on his second lap, then cleared the racetrack for the final qualifier of the 28 entrants.
That time would earn Dauber a sixth place starting slot in the Lock 8 fast heat, and after dropping a spot early on, Dauber rallied to collect a fourth place showing. This earned him an outside row two view to the front where Dauber wasted little time in using the high side to take over the top spot by lap six. From there Dauber was never seriously challenged and went on to collect his fourth win of the year at FALS, while points leader Scott Bull suffered his second DNF of the weekend. Eric Smith came home in second followed by Darren Friedman.
FAIRBURY, IL (June 28) - Ryan Dauber picked up his second win of the season, the site of his first as well, as he passed early race leader Ryan Unzicker with 13 laps remaining in the 30-lap affair to earn the $1200 top prize. Dauber started outside pole after finishing a distant second to Unzicker in the fast heat (Lock 8) race. But as the night progressed, finishing second looked like the place to be with the outside line seemingly being the fast way around. Dauber would also qualify third fastest overall among the 29 entries with a 13.160 effort.
